Daguerre took colorless pictures of people, including himself, mainly wealthy. Due to the long exposure times needed, his subjects are never smiling and are depicted in simple poses that they can keep for long periods of time. His photographs are also generally affiliated with being old and grainy, due to the time period in which they were taken.
Daguerre is a truly inspiring photographer, as he was one of the first major photographers and helped influence the field of photography into what it is today. Once we researched him further, our respect for him greatened because we began to appreciate the patience required to be a photographer back in his day.
